In 2012, Chinese New Year's Day will be celebrated on January 23. The New
Year festival will start from January 22 (Chinese New Year' Eve) and
end on February 6 (Lantern Festival). 2012 marks the 4710th Chinese New
Year, and this time it is the year of the dragon according to the
Chinese zodiac calendar.
The dragon is the 5th sign of the Chinese zodiac and it is regarded as an
auspicious symbol which stands for power, good luck, success, and
happiness.
Lunch Specials will include "jiaozi" (dumplings) and "Niangao" (New Year's Cake)

Exhibition of Still Photos from “Delicious Peace” Documentary 
and Screening of Documentary and Reception for Opening of Exhibition
In celebration of Black History Month, the Montclair Public Library will be hosting an exhibition of photographs taken by documentary director Curt Fissel during the production of the multiple award-winning film Delicious Peace Grows in a Ugandan Coffee Bean, narrated by actor Ed O’Neill. The exhibition will run throughout the month of February.
The exhibition will kick off on February 1 with a screening of the 40-minute documentary and a question and answer session. This will be preceded and followed by an opening reception where the Fair Trade coffee that is the subject of the documentary and that is sold at Terra at the Isabel Rose Cafe, will be served. The reception will run from 5:30 to 7 pm and resume after the film from 8 to 9 pm. More...

Runa and Guayusa
NEW AMAZONIAN TEA TASTING AND TALK, Sunday, February 26, 2 to 3 pm with Tyler Gage, co-founder and President of Runa which sells Guayusa.
- Runa was started by a 26 year old entrepreneur from Summit, NJ, Tyler Gage, with the goal of creating livelihoods for indigenous farmers in Ecuador.
- Runa sells a native Amazonian tea called guayusa (pronounced "gwhy-you-sa"). Guayusa has more caffeine than any tea, double the antioxidants of green tea, and smooth, clean taste. Guayusa is 100% USDA Organic and just recently Fair Trade certified by Fair Trade USA.
- Guayusa is a part of an ancient tradition where native families arise before dawn and drink guayusa from large clay pots around the fire. During this time elders share myths and stories and pass down their cultural heritage to younger generations.
- Runa supports over 1,000 indigenous farming families in Ecuador, has created 35 local jobs, planted more than 100,000 trees, and even has received a large investment from the Ecuadorian government to support its sustainable development work.
- During the presentation, Tyler will share about his experiences living in the Amazon for 3 years and how Runa is creating social impact through Fair Trade.
